Former Texas Tech WR, top recruit Micah Hudson commits to Texas A&M as transfer
Former Texas Tech wideout Micah Hudson has committed to Texas A&M out of the NCAA Transfer Portal. It’s a major pickup for the Aggies and head coach Mike Elko.
Hudson has committed to the Aggies after a recent visit to College Station after getting in the portal.
Hudson, who signed with the Red Raiders as part of the 2024 recruiting class, was a Five-Star Plus+ recruit. However, he did not gain much traction in the lineup as a true freshman in 2024.
He appeared in eight games as a freshman, hauling in eight passes for 123 yards.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder was the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranked as the nation’s No. 4 wide receiver and the No. 4 recruit in Texas.
He originally chose the Red Raiders over Texas and Ohio State, as well as dozens of other offers.
Texas A&M was also closely involved in his recruitment and he took visits there late in the process before committing to the Red Raiders.

Former UAB quarterback Jacob Zeno announced his transfer commitment to Texas A&M in early December. He took a visit to the school on Dec. 9, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Zeno will be on his 7th year of college football following three years at Baylor and UAB. He played in 11 games in 2023, throwing for 3,126 yards, 20 touchdowns, nine interceptions and a 73.6% completion percentage.
Zeno only played in four games this past season, throwing for 819 yards, six touchdowns, five interceptions and a 69.5% completion percentage.
As a member of the Class of 2019, Zeno was a four-star recruit out of San Antonio (Texas) John Jay, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 39 overall prospect in the state, the No. 24 quarterback in the class and the No. 342 overall prospect in the class.
