Four-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart of Bellflower (CA) St. John Bosco announced his commitment to Texas A&M Thursday night.

The 6-foot-3, 230 pounder chose the Aggies over USC.

Lockhart on why he chose Texas A&M

“It all came down to me finding a fit of what’s going to best suit me on the field, along off the field! I felt confident and didn’t second guess myself that Texas A&M was the place for me.”

“They say everything is bigger in Texas, but I think what makes it big and what draws intention is the people in it. I want to be a part of that and help build a winning culture and get developed by an amazing elite coaching staff. I can help win ball games and go to the next level!”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“Coach DJ Durkin the linebacker coach and defensive coordinator,” Lockhart said. “Me and him go way back when he first offered me. At the time, he was at Ole Miss and I was in the 9th grade! I’m thankful that he saw my potential before I even played a varsity snap and believed in what I can do on the field! We kept in touch throughout my recruiting process and never lost contact. He is as real as it gets and takes care of his players on and off the field.

He plans on using me in that inside linebacker spot calling the defense and helping the guys in front and behind me get better on a daily basis!”
