Four-Star TE Jaden Platt flips from Stanford to Texas A&M
Four-star tight end Jaden Platt of Haslet (TX) Eaton High flipped his commitment from Stanford to Texas A&M Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-5, 235 pounder had been committed to the Cardinal since last December.
Platt on why he chose Texas A&M
“What ultimately stood out about A&M was the Aggie Network,” Platt said. “Which could get me connected with many different Aerospace Companies, as well as the relationships I had with the coaches even prior to my commitment to Stanford. They have always supported me and respected my decision but have also been there for me if anything were to happen. Finally the locker room is one I would want to be in and be around for the next 4-5 years.
Relationships stood out
“I am probably the closest with Coach Coley, being the former tight ends coach, as well as Coach Fish,” Platt said. “I’ve felt a pretty good relationship with those Coaches, as well as some assistants. They plan for me to be in the line up this upcoming year depending on my recovery from my foot injury and how my spring goes, but they expect me to make an impact pretty early on!”
The Lone Star State tight end joins coach Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies’ top 15 class in the 2023 team rankings. He is accompanied by David Hicks, Reuben Owens, and others.

Jaden Platt Scouting Summary
“Long-striding tight end who registers as a top athlete and presents a mismatch down the seam. Measured at 6-foot-4.5, 230 pounds prior to his senior season. Has plus length with a 6-foot-9 wing-span. Tests as a top athlete in the combine setting, running an electronically-timed 4.8 second 40-yard dash, 4.22 second shuttle along with a 34-inch vertical and 10’8” broad jump. Often plays flexed out into the slot at the high school level. Eats up space with his stride length, nearly covering five yards with a step. Most effective at working up the seam and down the middle of the field. Has a large catch radius when he extends, due to the long arms. Will need to progress with his play strength to aid as a blocker. Can also improve on his short area quickness in the game setting relative to his very impressive agility times.”
Platt ranks as the No. 224 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 12 tight end and the No. 41 player in the state of Texas.
