WATCH: Paul Finebaum makes fun of Jimbo Fisher, coaching record
This was supposed to be a season for Texas A&M where the Aggies seriously compete in the SEC and possibly the College Football Playoff. Even so, head coach Jimbo Fisher found himself the victim of an upset loss on Saturday, losing to Appalachian State on Saturday. Add in a brutal schedule on the way and there could be more struggles coming to College Station.
ESPN’s Paul Finebaum is making it known what he thinks of the Aggies and more specifically, Fisher. During an appearance at the Little Rock Touchdown Club, Finebaum took a shot at the Texas A&M head coach and his coaching record.

“That was the question before the season,” Finebaum said. “Whose going to be the third team? Some people thought it was A&M.
“I’m not here to make fun of Jimbo Fisher. His record does that already.”

Fisher is 118-38 throughout his coaching career, with most of the success coming while at Florida State. In six of his eight seasons, he won at least 10 games and added a national championship during the 2013 season. However, since being in College Station, the success has not been the same.

Texas A&M does not have a double-digit win season under Fisher, with nine being the peak in 2018 and 2020. However, in the shortened COVI-19 season, they were able to win the Orange Bowl and finished with just one loss. At the very least, it was viewed as progress.
Now, the Aggies are sitting with a 1-1 record and a tough schedule ahead. It’s going to be a challenge for Fisher to get his squad into the position he wants. Or else, Finebaum will just continue to berate the head coach.
