Stanford and Texas A&M both find themselves in a win-or-go-home situation on Monday night. Whoever is able to win Game 7 of the Stanford Regional will keep their season alive and advance to a Super Regional. A loss will send you packing and moving on to the 2024 season.

Texas A&M decided to get the party started early, with Jace LaViolette getting into one. The outfielder absolutely destroyed a second-inning 3-2 fastball, sending it deep into right field. With a bunch of trees sitting behind the wall, the ball went so far, the television broadcast lost sight of its trajectory.

The caption on the tweet Texas A&M put out with a video of the home run fits pretty well. “LaViolence” was all that was needed, describing the situation pretty well.

You can watch the full moment here.

Unfortunately for the Aggies, Stanford was able to respond in the bottom of the second inning with a solo shot of their own. The game now sits at 1-1, with there still being a lot of baseball left to play. If anything, LaViollete will have a chance to play hero ball once again.

Stanford will have to be more careful around Texas A&M’s cleanup hitter. Otherwise, they will end the season in disappointing fashion in front of the home crowd.

Texas A&M looking to advance to another Super Regional

Head coach Jim Schlossnagle was brought to College Station to bring a national championship back with him from Omaha. Last season, Texas A&M came close, falling on the brink of the title series but ultimately lost to Oklahoma. In what has been an up-and-down season, another great opportunity presents itself as the Aggies are back in a groove.

The first two games of the Stanford Regional were positive, beginning with a 2-0 record. Sunday night was a tough loss against the Cardinal, dropping the potential clincher 13-5. Now comes the rubber match between the two programs.

If Texas A&M can win on Monday, it will be Super Regional No. 12 for the program. They have fared pretty well in those as well, advancing to the College World Series seven times. But the elusive national championship is still waiting for them.

A familiar program would be on the other side if the Aggies advance. In what should produce plenty of storylines across college baseball, the result in Stanford must be determined before beginning to write them.
