Texas A&M Aggies head coach Jim Schlossnagle apologized for the actions of two hecklers who were harassing Kevin O’Sullivan and the Florida Gators dugout early in their game during the College World Series.

The fans were removed in the second inning by security after heckling the Florida dugout, creating a major distraction for the Gators. It’s something that Schlossnagle says doesn’t represent Texas A&M.

“I want to apologize on behalf of Texas A&M for whatever the heck went on over there in that dugout,” Jim Schlossnagle said. “Whoever those two guys are, they don’t represent what Texas A&M is all about, and whoever they are, just don’t come back. Let’s not let those two guys back in the ballpark.”

The incident between fans and hecklers occurred during the bottom of the second inning. At the time, the Aggies offense was rallying and the fans decided to yell into the Florida dugout, creating a distraction with what they were saying.

It’s not entirely clear what was being said. However, it was clearly an intense moment that impacted Florida at the time, as  Nick de la Torre of On3’s Gators Online explained.

“Two Texas A&M fans were just ejected,” Nick de la Torre posted during the game. “They were down by the Florida dugout … Brandon Neely had to be held back. Not sure what was said but looked like it was heated down there.”

The ESPN broadcast also caught the hecklers on camera, with the commentators taking note of their actions. It was then that security and police at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha got involved. They ejected the two fans, wearing Aggies gear, who threw their thumbs up multiple times to other fans in the stands while they were being removed.

Omaha Police calls for Texas A&M hecklers to be banned from city, College World Series

The Omaha Police Officers Association came out the day after the Florida-Texas A&M game with a post on social media where they shared what they believe was said while also arguing for those hecklers to be banned from the College World Series and the city of Omaha.

“Heckling an opposing baseball team about the tragic death of their batboy is beyond unacceptable,” the post read. “Glad our officers and security threw this duo out of Charles Schwab Field. You’re no longer welcome in this city and should be banned for life from future College World Series #cws.”
