Jimbo Fisher heaps praise on Max Wright, what he brings to the program
Max Wright is proving to be a staple of the Texas A&M program. The senior tight end has also proved he can jump over to the defensive side of the ball during his career, and Jimbo Fisher said he’s a great leader for the Aggies this year.
Wright has started two games in four appearances this year for Texas A&M and, although he hasn’t registered a stat in the box score, Fisher said he’s stepping up from a leadership standpoint. As the Aggies come out of the bye week, he had some high praise for Wright and what he brings to the program.

“Max is a phenomenal guy,” Fisher said. “Great leader, great caring guy. He’s been around, understands the big picture things — not only what he does playing-wise, sacrifices. Total team guy, but can correlate that and get that across to players. Does a great job with his leadership.
“Guys respect him a lot because of how hard he works, the things he goes through, the way he goes about his business. Just an outstanding human being and player for us. Doing a great job.”

Jimbo Fisher says South Carolina will be ‘extremely tough’
Jimbo Fisher isn’t overlooking South Carolina. Texas A&M is ready for a dog fight in Columbia this weekend as both teams are seemingly hitting their strides.
Fisher gave the Gamecocks credit for notching three consecutive wins, and with both teams refreshed after coming off their bye weeks, Fisher expects a tough matchup between his Aggies (3-3) and South Carolina (4-2).
“It’s going to be an extremely tough game,” Fisher said. “All the games in this league, I don’t care who you play, everybody’s got players, and especially on the road and in the SEC. … Man, they’re tough. At home they’re tough. Just SEC games in general. This team’s playing very well. In the Kentucky game, they got turnover on the first play, they blocked a punt in that game and got points out of that, so they’re very opportunistic in what they’ve done and and how they play. They have a very good football team.”
