Jimbo Fisher praises Texas A&M fans despite leaving game early
A lot has been made about the crowd at Texas A&M leaving early from Saturday’s victory over UMass. But Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher wasn’t worried about the early departures and praised their fans for braving sub-freezing temperatures that were felt throughout the South that weekend.
“Last week in 30-degree weather, if I could have went inside, I might have went inside. It was rainy and windy, with a 30-degree wind chill,” said Fisher. “I saw it across the country at a couple of places. The film I was watching on the guys we were evaluating; once they got cold, they got out of there. In the South, that doesn’t happen very often. You get warm rain. You don’t get cold rain.
“We’re in a place where it matters, and people matter here. Like I said, the fans are as good as they are anywhere in this country. The 12th man is as good of a family and fan base as there is anywhere. They are going to be supportive and do everything that they can do. It makes you want to continue. Even when you don’t feel good, you’re disappointed. What does that make you do? It makes you prepare and play and do your best because they deserve every ounce of energy you got.”
The temperature shouldn’t be much of a factor in the Aggies’ final game of the season at home against LSU on Saturday. The forecast calls for a temperature of 57 degrees. Although it is not the warmth people in Texas are used to, it is definitely going to be warmer and more comfortable than it was, and the cold and wet 30 degrees against UMass.

Fisher says win over LSU would be ‘huge’ for Texas A&M
Texas A&M will play their final game of the season at home on Saturday against LSU. And although the Aggies failed to qualify for this year’s bowl season, this game is still a huge one. head coach Jimbo Fisher understands the importance of this game and recently explained why a win over LSU would be ‘huge’ for Texas A&M.
“I think it’s huge. Again, with the future and what you have here, which we believe is extremely bright; where we’re going and what we’re doing with these guys, playing together and being together,” said Fisher. “I think for the seniors, it’s a great sendoff and the last time they walk into that stadium. And another lesson on perseverance, not letting circumstances dictate who you are and what you are. But how you deal with them and preserve through. I think it would be great for those seniors and a great message for these young players heading into the offseason.”
