There’s a lot of blame to go around in College Station. Several things have added up to Texas A&M’s 3-4 record thus far in 2022. In Jimbo Fisher’s mind, he knows he and the Aggie’s coaching staff are in part to blame for it.

Fisher spoke about the shortcomings of the coaching staff during his press conference on Monday. He says he and his coaches aren’t at the level they’re supposed to be at. He knows it is on them to be better in order to better teach this roster.

“Obviously (we’re) not doing what we need to be doing. I mean we haven’t reached the standard in which we wanted to reach, which is not to lose any games,” said Fisher. “We have to coach better and do a better job putting out guys in position and get them to understand. From education to techniques to doing the things we do. Again, we’re not happy where we’re in any way, shape or form.”

A&M is in the middle of a three-game losing streak and their fourth loss in six games. It has caused them to fall way short of their expectations to compete. That goes for both the SEC as well as on the national level. Fisher has been at the center of a lot of the blame and a statement like this suggests the root of some of these issues comes from the coaching staff as a whole.

In the end, the program overall is responsible for what they have put out on the field thus far. If they want to salvage the year in any way, the coaching and therefore their play will need to take a significant step forward. The Aggie faithful will have to wait and see if they will or not by the time this weekend’s game against Ole Miss kicks off.
