Mississippi State Bulldogs wide receiver Mario Craver has committed to transfer to the Texas A&M Aggies, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Mario Craver played in nine games during his freshman season in Starkville. During that time, he made 17 receptions for 368 yards and three touchdowns. On top of that, he had three carries for seven yards. Interestingly enough, his most productive game came against Texas A&M, when Craver had five receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown.

2024 was the first season for head coach Jeff Lebby at Mississippi State and it was a difficult one as the Bulldogs are looking to rebuild. They ended up going just 2-10 overall and 0-8 in the SEC. That was, of course, last in the conference. It was also a season where Craver had issues at times with injuries that cost him some time.

After playing his high school football at Clay-Chalkville in Alabama, Mario Craver was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the 46th-ranked wide receiver and the 279th-ranked player overall in his recruiting cycle.

Now, Mario Craver is joining is set to join a Texas A&M team that is also coming off its first season under a new head coach. However, in the Aggies’ case, Mike Elko had them competitive to make the SEC Championship Game at the end of the season.

Texas A&M does have room to improve next season, particularly on offense. In a season where there was some back and forth about who the team’s quarterback was going to be, the Aggies averaged 30.3 points per game, which is 47th in the country in scoring offense. The passing offense for Texas A&M was 93rd in the country following the regular season, averaging 203.5 yards per game passing.

The Transfer Portal opened on Monday, December 9th, and while there is still time for things to change, Texas A&M has already been active in the portal. That’s included seeing 17 players transfer out while four have already transferred into the program. That includes two transfers coming in from other SEC schools. The Aggies only expect their transfer class to grow from here.

Mario Craver will have three more seasons of eligibility.
