NC State transfer WR KC Concepcion commits to Texas A&M
Former NC State wide receiver KC Concepcion has committed to Texas A&M, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. After playing two seasons at NC State, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Concepcion burst onto the scene in 2023 during his true freshman campaign, finishing the season with 71 catches for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns — the most receiving touchdowns and receptions by a freshman in program history.
For his efforts, he was named the 2023 ACC Freshman of the Year. Additionally, On3 named Concepcion its True Freshman of the Year on offense.
After a standout debut campaign, Concepcion took a step back in production this season. In 12 appearances, he amassed 53 catches for 460 yards and six touchdowns.
Despite Concepcion’s statistical fall, On3 ranked him as the No. 5 player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Further, he was the No. 3 wide receiver to enter the portal, only trailing Eric Singleton and Zachariah Branch.
KC Concepcion played high school football at Chambers (NC), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 590 overall recruit and No. 90 WR in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
With Concepcion out wide next season, Texas A&M should be able to rely more heavily on its passing game. The team only averaged 210.3 passing yards per game this season, ranking No. 87 in the country. Alas, the Aggies struggled to find a consistent starter at quarterback, alternating between multiple players throughout the season.

Now, quarterback Marcel Reed is expected to be Texas A&M’s QB1 next season. Reed finished the 2024 campaign with 1,864 passing yards and 15 touchdowns while throwing six interceptions.
With Reed running the offense on a weekly basis, fans are hopeful that Texas A&M will find a better passing rhythm next season. Adding the No. 3 wide receiver in the NCAA Transfer Portal certainly will help.
The transfer portal officially opened Dec. 7 and will remain open until Dec. 28, though players on teams still playing in the postseason will get an additional five-day window to enter the portal after their seasons end.
