Former Nebraska tight end Nate Boerkircher has committed to Texas A&M out of the transfer portal, he announced on Thursday. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Boerkircher spent his first four college seasons at Nebraska. He played in 39 career games for the Cornhuskers.

Over that time, he amassed 19 total receptions for 219 yards and a touchdown. This past season, the tight end caught six passes for 102 yards.

“Thank you, Nebraska Football, for giving me the opportunity to live out my dream the past five years. I’m forever grateful for the memories and experiences that shaped me. With that said, I’m excited to announce I’m committing to Texas A&M football for my sixth year of eligibility. Gig ’em,” Boerkircher said in his announcement.

As a recruit, Boerkircher played high school football at Aurora (NE), where he did not have a star-rating as a prospect in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Craver played in nine games during his freshman season in Starkville. During that time, he made 17 receptions for 368 yards and three touchdowns. On top of that, he had three carries for seven yards. Interestingly enough, his most productive game came against Texas A&M, when Craver had five receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown.

2024 was the first season for head coach Jeff Lebby at Mississippi State and it was a difficult one as the Bulldogs are looking to rebuild. They ended up going just 2-10 overall and 0-8 in the SEC. That was, of course, last in the conference. It was also a season where Craver had issues at times with injuries that cost him some time.

After playing his high school football at Clay-Chalkville in Alabama, Craver was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the 46th-ranked wide receiver and the 279th-ranked player overall in his recruiting cycle.
