Noah Thomas has left Texas A&M’s game against Louisiana-Monroe. The SEC Network broadcast showed him heading toward the locker room with a towel on his head.

It’s unclear what injury Thomas suffered. He had yet to record a stat in the game.

Noah Thomas is in his second year with Texas A&M after arriving as part of the Aggies’ highly touted recruiting class in 2022. In two games this season, he has 10 catches for 112 yards to enter Saturday’s game as Texas A&M’s second-leading receiver.

Texas A&M vs. Louisiana-Monroe saw a one-hour delay before kickoff due to weather in the area, but it was all Aggies once things got going. They took a 27-3 lead into the locker room thanks to a huge half from Conner Weigman. He completed an efficient 19 of 23 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown as the Texas A&M offense rolled through two quarters.

It’s shaping up to be a big year for Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M

It was a welcome showing from Jimbo Fisher’s offense as the Aggies bring a 1-1 record into the game. That rough start proves it’s a big season for Fisher, and FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman said as much on Big Noon Kickoff.

Even despite his hefty buyout, it’s looking like Fisher’s future might not be entirely set in stone in College Station.

“There was some optimism. Five of the first six games were at home. The one road game last week, at unranked Miami, and got outplayed, out-coached. They got whipped,” said Feldman, noting that Fisher’s buyout, while massive, is something A&M could consider paying if this season doesn’t turn around in a big way.

“Now Jimbo is 1-7 in his last eight against power five opponents. The buyout is huge: $77 million. But I’m told: he doesn’t get it going this year, A&M will find that money. As the source told me this week, look, it’s year six, what’s another 8-4 season gonna prove at this point?”

An 8-4 record would be a major improvement from last year’s 5-7 mark. However, it’s also worth noting Texas is looking strong to start the year, and that could create some urgency around the Texas A&M program.

“One other thing that has made it really interesting: the arch-rival, the team they hate more than anything, Texas, they’re looking like a national title contender and Steve Sarkisian has only been on the job half as long as Jimbo Fisher has,” Feldman said.
