Oklahoma transfer guard Duke Miles commits to Texas A&M after Virginia decommitment

Former Oklahoma transfer guard Duke Miles committed to Texas A&M on Tuesday, he announced on Instagram. On3’s Joe Tipton also confirmed Miles’ commitment.
Miles previously decommitted from Virginia on April 11, just four days after committing out of the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Miles averaged 9.4 points per game and shot a team-leading 43-percent from three-point range in 2024-25 while helping lead the Sooners to the NCAA Tournament in their first season apart of the SEC. Miles previously started his career at High Point and Troy, and is now back on the open market.
Prior to his arrival in Norman this past season, Miles had a standout year at High Point in 2023-24. He averaged 17.5 points per game while adding 2.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists on average across 33 games, including 27 starts. He then cemented himself as a starter under Oklahoma’s Porter Moser while averaging 24.6 minutes per game.
Miles played high school basketball at Montgomery (Ala.) Percy L. Julian. After entering the transfer portal this cycle, he became the No. 79 overall player and No. 5-ranked combo guard in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.
Duke Miles joins new-look Texas A&M after offseason coaching change
Miles’ commitment to the Aggies is the program’s fifth since its coaching change, following April 17 commitments from former Samford guard Josh Holloway and Indiana forward Mackenzie Mgbako, as well as Kansas forward Zach Clemence and North Alabama guard Jacari Lane.

Texas A&M is undergoing a major offseason transition following the departure of Buzz Williams for Maryland and the hiring of former Samford coach Bucky McMillan, a former Alabama high school coach whose breakneck offense has already caught the attention of college basketball.
The Aggies made the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three seasons under Williams, but never made it past the opening weekend in each of those three appearances. They’ll look to change that under Bucky McMillan for the 2025-26 season, and Holloway will hope to play a starring role during his new school’s effort.
