Early in the College World Series game between Texas A&M and Florida, two Aggies fans were removed after heckling the Gators’ dugout. It was a moment that caught plenty of people’s attention, including the Omaha Police.

Now, the Omaha Police Officers Association has shared what they believe the fans were saying in a post on social media that was highly critical of the fans. Within that post, the Omaha Police Officers Association called for the Texas A&M hecklers to be both banned from the city of Omaha and the College World Series.

“Heckling an opposing baseball team about the tragic death of their batboy is beyond unacceptable,” the post read.

“Glad our officers and security threw this duo out of Charles Schwab Field. You’re no longer welcome in this city and should be banned for life from future College World Series #cws.”

The moment itself occured early in the game, which itself went through a long weather delay. It was the bottom of the second inning and the bases were loaded for Texas A&M. That’s when the ESPN broadcast picked up something being said by fans into the Florida dugout and while the commentators brought the incident up, they did not know what exactly was said.

Shortly after that, security at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha got involved, ejecting the fans who were heckling the Gators. As the fans left, they gave the thumbs up sign to other fans in the crowd. They both wore Texas A&M shirts.

Whatever was said, it was clearly an intense moment that impacted Florida at the time, as  Nick de la Torre of On3’s Gators Online explained.

“Two Texas A&M fans were just ejected,” Nick de la Torre posted during the game. “They were down by the Florida dugout … Brandon Neely had to be held back. Not sure what was said but looked like it was heated down there.”

Jim Schlossnagle apologizes for Texas A&M hecklers harassing Kevin O’Sullivan, Florida dugout

Following the game, Texas A&M head coach Jim Schlossnagle made sure to apologize for the actions of those Texas A&M hecklers and what they said into the Florida dugout.

“I want to apologize on behalf of Texas A&M for whatever the heck went on over there in that dugout,” Jim Schlossnagle said. “Whoever those two guys are, they don’t represent what Texas A&M is all about, and whoever they are, just don’t come back. Let’s not let those two guys back in the ballpark.”
