As if things weren’t bad enough in College Station, Jimbo Fisher becoming the butt of every joke this season has only made things worse. It started during his offseason feud with Nick Saban and has now rolled into this point of Texas A&M’s season. After a week of teasing from Lane Kiffin, it has left Paul Finebaum shocked at how Fisher is now viewed.

Finebaum shared his disbelief in a recap of Week 9 for ESPN with Matt Barrie. He said Fisher vs. Kiffin has stolen the show when it comes to coaching feuds because of the way Kiffin spoke about Fisher over the course of the last week.

“We all made a big deal about Saban and Jimbo as the biggest feud in college football. Let me refresh. It’s now Jimbo and Lane,” said Finebaum. “All week long, Lane just ratched it up…This is just blatant trolling. And then he wins the game of course. Very rarely do coaches double down on a game like this. But you can tell he has no love for Jimbo Fisher.”

It started with Kiffin’s comments about A&M ‘outbidding’ the Rebels for their former DC DJ Durkin. It was then followed by tweets regarding the prices for tickets inside Kyle Field. To top it all off, Ole Miss won 31-28 and Kiffin still kept on Fisher.

If that wasn’t enough salt in the wound, the Aggies now sit at 3-5 on the year. It’s been a downward spiral all season for A&M. Even amidst a four-game losing streak, though, Finebaum believes it can still get worse for Fisher.

“It’s quite a sideshow,” Finebaum said. “And, here we sit at the end of October, (and) Texas A&M, which started the season No. 6 in the country, now has five losses. And they still have to play Florida, Auburn, and LSU.”

Texas A&M needs a victory in the worst way not just to get them back in the win column but to take some of the heat off their head coach. Fisher has had a rough go of it and, with how the Aggies are playing, it may not be letting up. All they can hope for is that the eyes come off them as they try to prepare for the Gators next weekend.
