Dogs love a good chew toy and Texas A&M‘s Reveille X is no different. The one she was playing with on Thursday was a little bigger than usual though, hanging out with Texas mascot Bevo. No, not the live animal Georgia‘s UGA found out about — but the human version of the Longhorn.

When you are discussing Texas-Texas A&M, there has to be some internet trolling involved. Reveille X did not cease to take the opportunity, taking to Twitter. She called Bevo a giant chew toy as the two posed together for a picture in front of university banners.

A fun post in what can be an intense rivalry at times. While they may appear to be friends in the photo, the Lone Star Showdown never rests.

Texas, Texas A&M rivalry returning with SEC move

Reveille and the human version of Bevo might get to spend some more quality time together moving forward. With Texas officially moving to the SEC before the 2024 season, the rivalry against Texas A&M will permanently be back on the football field in the near future.

As to whether or not the two Lone Star State programs will play each other on an annual basis has not yet been determined by the SEC. However, you would have to think bringing the Thanksgiving matchup back to Austin and College Station every year is a big draw for the conference.

It’s a long time coming as well. There has not been a meeting on the gridiron since 2011. A long decade-plus has passed since then, with social media bickering filling the gap. Some can be in fun spirit such as Reveille’s post. Others can be heated debates between fans.

While Olympic sports have faced off against each other, nothing is quite the same as a football matchup.
