Solomon Washington leaves game with potential leg injury vs. Mississippi State
The Texas A&M Aggies Aggies are in complete control of their senior night SEC showdown against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Unfortunately, in the second half, the Aggies lost one of their key players to an injury.
While skying for a rebound in the early part of the second half, forward Solomon Washington went down to the ground after landing awkwardly on his left leg. He would ultimately need assistance getting off the floor and was taken back to the locker room for further evaluation. Washington appeared to have suffered a left leg injury. However, currently, there is no additional information on his status and whether or not he will return to Wednesday night’s contest.
As it currently stands, Texas A&M owns a 20-point lead over Mississippi State and has been in complete control of this game. So the Aggies might not need Washington to close out the Bulldogs on seeing your night. However, if his injury lingers longer, it could have a significant impact on Texas A&M’s chances of being a part of this year’s field of 68 and being competitive in the SEC championship tournament.
Texas A&M picks up bigtime win on Senior Night
In the end Texas A&M was able to pick up the much needed victory over Mississippi State, securing the 75-69 victory. The Bulldogs made it close late in the second half, but ultimately could not do enough to overcome the 20 plus point deficit.

The teens finished the night appearing evenly matched on paper with nearly identical field goal percentages and three-point makes. However, the difference in Wednesday night’s SEC showdown was the discipline buzz Williams team showed on the court. Texas A&M committed fewer turnovers, 12-9, and had half as many personal fouls in the game 18-9. Those additional nine fouls resulted in a significant difference in free throws attempted and made. Mississippi State finished the game 4-7 from the charity stripe. At the same time, Texas A&M was 15-20.
The Aggies climb to 17-13 on the season with one more game left on the regular season schedule before the start of the SEC tournament. That contest will be a Saturday afternoon road matchup against the Ole Miss Rebels.
