Texas A&M offensive tackle Kenyon Green dominated in Texas A&M’s 41-10 victory per Pro Football Focus.

Green earned an overall grade of 89.5 and a run block grade of 86.1, both career highs for Green’s career thus far. In 38 total snaps, Green allowed zero quarterback pressures.

Despite Green’s dominance, Texas A&M’s offense struggled at times against Kent St. After scoring on their first two drives of the game, the Aggies turned the ball over on their next three drives, entering halftime leading just 10-3.

The Aggies took off in the second half, scoring 31 points in the last two quarters of the game. The Aggies finished for 595 total yards. Behind Kenyon Green and the Texas A&M offensive line, the Aggies rushed for over 300 yards. Running back Devon Achane had 124 rushing yards and two touchdowns while third-year back Isaiah Spiller had 113 rushing yards.

Texas A&M’s defense was dominant in the season opener, picking up where it left off last season. The Aggies allowed just 336 yards; the Aggies ranked No. 1 in the SEC last year in yards allowed with 317.3 per game.

Kenyon Green is expected to be a first-round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and is listed as one of the top offensive linemen picked in the draft. Green has started all 25 games he has been available for in his collegiate career. Last season, Green was a consensus All-American, was named a finalist for the Joe Moore Award and earned team Offensive MVP. As a freshman in 2019, Green was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

Jimbo Fisher contract extension

Prior to the season, Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher signed his official contract extension, extending him through 2031 with the Aggies. His extension will start at $9 million per year and will increase each season, reported ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.

“Fisher’s contract was extended by four years until December 31, 2031,” stated Rittenberg. “The terms of the new contract include an annual salary of $9,000,000 starting on January 1, 2022 and will increase to $9,150,000 on January 1, 2023. In each of the following years, the base salary increases by $100,000 on January 1. All other terms relative to performance incentives and other elements remain the same.”

Jimbo Fisher came to Texas A&M prior to the 2018 season and signed a 10-year, $75-million contract at the time.

In three seasons at Texas A&M, Fisher has led the Aggies to a 26-10 record with victories in the Orange Bowl, Texas Bowl and Gator Bowl.
