FAU right-handed pitcher Michael Bollinger Jr. was an all-conference pitcher in his lone year with the program this spring. Now, a few days after entering his name into the transfer portal, he has committed to a new program in the SEC.

MJ Bollinger has committed to Texas A&M from the NCAA Transfer Portal. He announced that commitment to the Aggies on social media on Friday.

Bollinger appeared in 28 games with 44.2 innings pitched this season for Florida Atlantic, posting a 2.01 ERA with 39 strikeouts as batters posted a .230 average against him. He also had 11 saves. All that earned him recognition this season on the All-AAC Second Team.

That’s after starting his collegiate career at San Jacinto JC, meaning this is a return for him to the Lone Star State. Bollinger appeared in 17 games, with 33 innings pitched, where he posted an ERA of 1.36 with 28 strikeouts for the Ravens.

This comes a week after Texas A&M decided to retain Michael Earley after his debut as their head coach. That’s despite the Aggies going 30-26 (11-19 SEC) overall in missing the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

“Earlier today I met with Coach Earley to discuss the state of our baseball program,” AD Trev Alberts said in a statement. “I appreciate Mike’s work in taking a holistic view of what changes need to be made so that we have a baseball program that meets our high standards. Baseball success is critically important to Texas A&M. I am confident in Mike’s ability to execute the needed change and fully support his vision going forward.”

With that, A&M has already undergone some staff changes in moving on from Will Fox and hiring Cliff Pennington. They’ve also lost eight players themselves to the portal.

Bollinger has pitched well at the junior college and mid-major levels the past two seasons. He’ll now make the move to the power level in looking to play well in Aggieland.
