Texas A&M is movin’ on. The no. 5 overall seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament took care of business as they hosted regional games in College Station this past weekend.

The Aggies took down Oral Roberts 8-2 to open up tourney play. Then, they upended Louisiana in the winner’s bracket by a 9-6 score to advance to the region’s championship series. Louisiana then lost to TCU in the loser’s bracket to set up a possible two-game series vs. Texas A&M.

Of course, A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle was the former coach of the Horned Frogs for over 15 years. So this reunion was bittersweet for the new Aggies head coach. His team showed no mercy on the field, though. A&M dropped TCU 15-9 in their first matchup Sunday night to wrap up the region and advance to the super-regional next weekend, where they’ll once again play host.

Here was a look at Texas A&M celebrating their regional victory:

Quite an achievement for Jim Schlossnagle to take down the program he build with the team he just took over, and advance to the second weekend of the NCAA Baseball Tournament in the process.

Also a stellar weekend for the Aggies’ offense. Totals of eight, nine and 15 runs across their three games is remarkable production. This explosion from A&M was accounted for on the All-Region team. Five Aggie hitters and one pitcher made College Station’s All-Region team, with first baseman Jack Moss earning Player of the Region honors. All told, Texas A&M’s six guys was more than the other three teams had combined on the team.

Just a dominant weekend across the board for Schlossnagle’s group.

With many of the regionals still undecided as of Monday morning, the Aggies have the privilege of sitting back on their couches watching the rest of the pandemonium unfold, secure in the fact that they held serve at home and are staying right in College Station for the super-regional this coming weekend.
