2023 Waco (Tex.) Conally four-star running back Tre Wisner announced his top eight schools on Thursday and Texas A&M remains in the mix for the talented junior.
In addition to the Aggies, Wisner is considering USC, Oregon, Oklahoma, Florida State, Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma State.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Oklahoma is the overwhelming favorite to land Wisner. The Sooners currently have two expert predictions in their favor, and the RPM gives them a 99.1 percent chance to secure Wisner’s commitment.
Though the Sooners lead the way, the Aggies aren’t going away without a fight. Wisner last visited Texas A&M in January and has built a strong relationship with running backs coach Tommie Robinson. Wisner was offered in the summer of 2021, after camping and visiting at College Station in June.
Texas remains another school to keep an eye on in Wisner’s recruitment, as the Longhorns are also making a strong effort to land the four-state. Hometown Baylor remains seriously involved as well and shouldn’t be counted out in the junior’s recruitment.

Outside of Wisner, the Aggies are involved in the recruitment of just one other in-state running back in El Campo four-star Rueben Owens, the No. 2 running back in the country in the On3 Consensus. Texas A&M also has an offer out to Shiner four-star athlete Dalton Brooks who is seen as either a running back or defensive back. The Aggies continue to monitor in-state backs like College Station three-star Marquise Collins, Manor four-star Quinten Joyner and Denton (Tex.) Ryan four-star Kalib Hicks, as well as Michigan State commit Kedrick Reescano, who hails from New Caney.
As a junior this past fall, Wisner was named the Texas District 9-4A-II Co-Offensive MVP. He rushed for 909 yards and 12 touchdowns on just 77 carries, and added 18 catches for 241 yards in the passing game. On defense, Wisner totaled 77 tackles, one interception and a forced fumble.
Wisner is the No. 176 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 7 running back and the No. 30 junior prospect in Texas.
