Texas A&M DL McKinnley Jackson declares for 2024 NFL Draft
Texas A&M defensive lineman McKinnley Jackson is entering the 2024 NFL Draft, he announced on social media. Jackson, a senior, could’ve returned for another year of college if he wished.
In four years at Texas A&M, Jackson appeared in 40 total games. He registered 91 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
“First and foremost, i would like to thank God for everything he has done in my life to get me to where I am today. To Coach E, Coach TP, Coach Fisher, Coach Durkin and Coach Elko, I can’t say thank you enough for developing me in to the best version of myself and pushing me to be great every day. Thank you to my family and friends for believing in me and being my biggest supporters throughout my journey. Lastly, to Texas A&M University, thank you for making this such a memorable experience to play in front of the best fans every week,” Jackson said in his announcement.
Jackson is the second notable Texas A&M player to declare for the NFL Draft on Friday, as wideout Ainias Smith also announced in his own statement earlier in the day that he’ll be entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

Players will have the opportunity to solidify their draft stock at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26 through March 4.
The three-day event will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on ESPN and NFL Network.
To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility.
Last season, 69 players were granted special eligibility for the 2023 NFL Draft. 13 underclassmen who had completed their college degrees were also deemed eligible to be selected.
The deadline to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft is on January 15. NFL teams will receive a full list of eligible players in the class on January 19.
