Texas A&M Football: Las Vegas releases early point spreads for 5 games on Aggies schedule
The Texas A&M Aggies once again shoulder high expectations heading into the 2022 season. Going into Jimbo Fisher’s fifth season in College Station, Aggie fans are ready to finally see their guys ascend to the College Football Playoffs. This week, Las Vegas oddsmakers released the point spreads for some of Texas A&M’s most critical 2022 matchups – Miami, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida and LSU.
Starting with the Aggies’ late kickoff versus Miami on Sept. 17, oddsmakers have Texas A&M -8 versus Mario Cristobal’s new squad.
Fisher then welcomes the Razorbacks to College Station for a revenge match after the 2021 streak-snapping loss to the Hogs. The Maroon and White are -6.5 versus their Natural State rivals.
On Oct. 8 versus Alabama, Texas A&M is the heavy underdog at -16. Between the upset in 2021 and the Nick Saban-Jimbo Fisher drama this offseason, this rivalry has really turned up a notch.
Texas A&M faces cross-division foe Florida on Nov. 5. They’re favored by a touchdown in the home matchup.

Finally, Fisher and the Ags take a crack at new LSU head coach Brian Kelly on Nov. 26 to close out the regular season. A&M is -7.5 in Vegas with less than two months to go before the season kicks off.
Max Johnson reveals Texas A&M goals for 2022
At the Manning Passing Academy, Max Johnson opened up on the expectations for his time in College Station. For Johnson, this summer comes between a 2021 season spent at LSU and 2022 at A&M where he’s fighting for the top quarterback job.
“I think the quota around A&M is 8-4,” Johnson told reporters. “I think everyone’s just; we’re not trying to be 8-4, we’re trying to be national champions and that’s our plan. Our guys are pushing toward that every day and I guess we’re all kind of sick of that quota, I guess.”
Max Johnson is sick of being average. He’s ready to help take Texas A&M to the next step.
The Aggies have the most interesting quarterback battle in the country this offseason — a three-way competition between the LSU transfer, the incumbent Haynes King and five-star freshman Conner Weigman. The latter is considered the heir apparent, while King has long been a favorite of Fisher’s. Then there’s Johnson, who beat the Aggies last season and has the most playing experience in the group.
