Texas A&M Football reveals first look at new black jerseys ahead of 2024 season
One day after teasing new black jerseys, Texas A&M has officially unveiled part of the jersey combo, showing off the new black tops in a four-picture post on Twitter.
The jerseys will feature an all-black background with white lettering, with no apparent trim.
You can check them out below.
The Aggies had previously teased the new black jersey combo on Twitter on Wednesday, releasing a video that showed someone in an all black training suit carrying a silver metal case. As they entered the team facilities, they popped open the case to reveal the black jerseys.
Highlighted were the all-black SEC logo and Adidas logo on the chestplate. You can see more of that in Thursday’s still shots.
It certainly figures to be a sleek look for Texas A&M, though now we’ll have to wait to see when the Aggies opt to bust out the new black jerseys.
Texas-Texas A&M game will be ‘rowdy’
One of the most exciting aspects about conference realignment will be the renewal of a few older rivalries, including what used to be an annual showdown between Texas and Texas A&M.
Both sides are expecting the competition to be fierce.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was recently asked about the series by ESPN’s Ryan McGee, and the gave a pretty good description for what fans and players alike can expect.
“Unreal,” Ewers said. “Especially being there, too. I’m excited for that one. It’s been 12 years, I think, now. That place is gonna be rowdy.
“I hate to say it, but I got a couple buddies that go there. They’re pretty excited about it, too. It’s gonna be an unbelievable atmosphere, especially being back on that Thanksgiving weekend.”
Texas A&M’s Taurean York also summed up his thoughts on the game.
“It’s personal, that’s all I have to say, it’s personal,” York said, via CJ Vogel. “I don’t talk to anybody from Texas because it’s that personal to me. They didn’t recruit me and there’s a lot of comparisons going on about me and Texas players in a sense. So I kinda put those rest in a sense.”
Will Texas A&M bust out the black jerseys for this one? We’ll see.
