Incoming freshmen are always a topic of conversation for fall camp and that conversation might be the biggest at Texas A&M, as they brought in the No. 1 recruiting class of 2022 according to On3 Consensus, which includes nine 5-star prospects. Bigger, more exciting names like Evan Stewart and Jake Johnson garner a lot of buzz and attention, but On3’s JD PicKell talked about two more off-the-radar freshmen that have been turning heads during their first fall camp at College Station.

Le’Veon Moss is, to put it bluntly, a grown man. He is physically already capable of playing and he’s a freakish athlete as well. 22 miles per hour on the treadmill this summer, for those of you that don’t know, that’s really fast, in some school zones that’s speeding, you’re pulling Le’Veon Moss over. So they think that he could potentially help them in a rotational standpoint at running back. Obviously, they have guys at running back, but if he can just help add depth there if he can be a guy that earns some carries, that’d be a really good great thing. So Le’Veon Moss, a guy they’re really excited about, like 5’11, 200 pounds but carved out of marble,” PicKell said.

The Aggies do have solid depth at the running back position but did lose their leading rusher in Isaiah Spiller, whose 1,000 yards on the ground will need to be replaced. Hopefully, Moss will be able to contribute to the workload while also getting valuable playing time early in his career for Texas A&M.

PicKell also said freshman wide receiver Noah Thomas has been turning heads as well at camp, with impressive size and speed comparable to an Aggie legend that’s currently one of the top receivers in the NFL.

“The other freshman we’re hearing about who is not getting quite enough as much buzz just yet but is turning heads in fall camp is Noah Thomas, wide receiver. He is about six-foot-five, 180 pounds, he was recorded going at 23 miles per hour on the treadmill, so dude can fly. The rumor is around the program we haven’t had a guy with this combo size and speed since Mike Evans maybe, I mean they think that highly of him that he’s going to be special as he progresses. Right now he’s running with the twos, I think you could see him get involved in some of the red zone stuff they do offensively because of how big his body is and his potential to win 50-50 balls. Noah Thomas is a guy they’re fired up about, both these guys turning heads early in fall camp,” PicKell said.

Texas A&M has a talented young core of playmakers that are clearly making an impact during camp, and it will definitely be interesting to see which ones end up making an impact early in their careers for the Aggies this season.
