Texas A&M manager takes scary foul ball to the face in team dugout
A scary moment in Texas A&M‘s game against Texas on Tuesday night briefly caused play to be halted after a team manager was hit in the face by a foul ball that flew into the dugout.
The incident occurred when Texas’ Casey Borba lined a pitch into the dugout, striking the manager in the face. The manager immediately slumped as teammates grabbed him, with blood streaming down from his face.
But he’s OK, Texas A&M head coach Jim Schlossnagle thankfully revealed after the game.
“He shattered that nose pretty good,” Schlossnagle said. “But he’s doing OK now. Standing in the back of the dugout is usually the (most) dangerous place because you can’t see. So the ball went by me and then just he was standing behind me and it hit him between the eyes.
“I think he’s going to be OK. He’s going to have a busted-up nose for a while, but he’s going to ride home with us. We’ll be praying for him.”

The good news is obviously that the manager is OK and avoided more serious injury on Tuesday night. Couple that with the fact that the Aggies beat their cross-state rivals and he might even be able to laugh about it before too long.
Texas A&M’s dominant start to the season has continued, with the team now having won 12 straight games to open the campaign.
Most of them have been dominant, too.
The Aggies have been on an absolute tear offensively, having scored at least 10 runs in six games now, while scoring nine runs in three others, including Tuesday night’s contest against Texas. The Aggies beat the Longhorns 9-2.
