Texas A&M offers 2024 Top-100 Lufkin RB Kedren Young

Texas A&M extended a very intriguing offer this past weekend to 2024 four-star Lufkin (Tex.) running back Kedren Young.

Young is the No. 169 overall prospect and No. 12 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 33 player in Texas.

On3 rates Young higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 93 overall prospect, No. 8 running back and No. 20 player in Texas.

Texas A&M, who does not yet hold a commitment from a running back in the 2024 cycle may find that Young becomes a favorite to end up in this class. Lufkin is only 109 miles away from College Station and there is an Aggie contingent in the area.

The offer came this past weekend, but Young has been on the board for some time. In fact, he visited in January for a junior day visit.

Young praised the Aggies offensive staff on that visit and said he was a fan of the offense they were pitching to him under Bobby Petrino. Sources have indicated that if Texas A&M makes a legitimate push for Young, it may not take long for the Aggies to emerge as the favorite in this recruitment.

The 5-foot-11, 207-pound Young holds 23 total offers.
