Virginia Beach (Va.) Green Run four-star wide receiver Keylen Adams received an offer from Texas A&M on Thursday. He announced the news over social media.

Adams is the No. 137 overall prospect and No. 24 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Virginia.

On3 rates Adams higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 134 overall prospect and No. 22 wide receiver in the country.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound wideout originally had a top four of Penn State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. It became a top five after he received an offer from Alabama on Feb. 15.

“When you think Alabama, you think the top college football program,” Adams told On3’s Chad Simmons on Feb. 16. “Anyone could say the word Alabama meaning anything. It could be about the state or whatever, but the first thing everyone thinks about is college football. That is how powerful Alabama is. The Alabama program has earned that. It is a different standard there.

“Alabama wins, they produce wide receivers and I have to take a hard look at them. I felt good about the four on my list, but Alabama has that status and my recruitment was always open. My main goal has always been to be committed before my senior season. I can still have everything squared away before then. I just may take some more time now and take a few more visits.”

More on Adams’ recruitment

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Hokies have a close lead for his commitment at 30.1%. He believes in the future of head coach Brent Pry‘s program.

“I see the vision that they got,” Adams said. “They got a lot of pieces that they’re getting there, trying to build something. I like what they’ve got going on.”

The Virginia native told Simmons that seeing the field early will matter in his decision. He is hoping to commit ahead of his senior season.

“It just really depends cause every time I talk to a school, I find out something new about it,” Adams said. “I might have to take multiple official visits so I can really get a good decision on it, but at the same time, I might not.”
