Texas A&M police ask man and dog riding Longhorn to exit campus ahead of Texas matchup
Things are getting truly crazy with Texas A&M and Texas set to renew their rivalry for the first time in more than a decade. University police in College Station asked a man who was seen riding a Longhorn with his dog to leave campus ahead of the game.
Video of the fan emerged on Tik Tok with tensions set high entering the matchup. You can view the man and his steed gallivanting through the streets below.
The Texas A&M police released a statement on the matter via X, formerly Twitter.
“A man was riding a horse and another man & his dog were riding a longhorn,” it read. “Agreed to leave campus.”
The winner of the game will punch its ticket to the SEC Championship Game to face Georgia, so there’s more than just bragging rights up for grabs in this rivalry between Texas and Texas A&M. Certainly fans are going all out in what will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2011.
The Longhorns own a 76-37-5 all-time advantage in the series against the Aggies. They also won the most recent meeting in a 2011 game that also took place in College Station by a score of 27-25.

Steve Sarkisian happy Texas earned SEC title game berth first year, not satisfied yet: ‘Our goal is to be champions’
Texas outlasted Texas A&M, 17-7, to win the first matchup of the reborn Lone Star Showdown and, just as importantly, lock up a bid in the SEC title game. There, the Longhorns will rematch with Georgia, the lone team to beat them this season.
And while making it to Atlanta for the league title game was always the goal for Sarkisian, even in Year 1 in the league he won’t just be happy with showing up. Texas is there to win.
“Well, that was the goal coming into it,” Sarkisian said to ESPN’s Holly Rowe during an on-field postgame interview. “It doesn’t matter what conference we’re in. Our goal is to be champions, year in and year out. That’s the standard here at the University of Texas and that will never change.”
Texas got the win on Saturday night largely by virtue of the defense, especially in the second half when the Longhorns offense had several turnovers and key mistakes late in drives that otherwise could’ve ended in points. The only points Texas gave up on Saturday came via a pick six.
