Women’s college softball has gotten underway, and it didn’t take long for Texas A&M softball to get the party started with an impressive highlight reel catch. Kramer Eschete made an insane grab on Thursday, drilling into the wall, and somehow managing to pull the ball in after the collision.

It’ll be one of the best catches of the year, if not the best catch of the year. That one is going to be tough to top for everybody else.

It didn’t look like Eschete had much of a shot to catch that foul ball at first, but her ability to sprint full speed to the wall, sustain the hit, and somehow manage to catch the ball, was pretty impressive.

Not only did Eschete make that catch Thursday, but she also drove a triple to the wall in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game up. She drove the triple to right center to knot it up, right when her teammates needed her the most.

Texas A&M is now 2-0 on the season, thanks to an eight-run sixth inning to defeat Utah State, 11-5.

Utah State jumped out to a 3-1 lead at one point, but A&M battled back. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Aggies blasted two home runs, one was a pivotal three-run blast by Mac Barbara. She belted a three-run shot over the wall in left center field. Then Mya Perez blasted a solo shot to the same spot. Allie Enright also blasted a home run to right field.

Big things are expected of Texas A&M this season, as they were ranked inside the Top 10 by Softball America in the preseason poll.

After facing Utah State, A&M faced off against Purdue on Thursday night at 7:00 PM EST.

The Aggies also took care of business in that one, prevailing 10-2 in five innings of work. Thursday was the start of a four-day tournament hosted by the Aggies in College Station, known as the Aggie Classic.

On Friday, Feb. 7th, Texas A&M will take on the No. 19 ranked Baylor Bears. Then, on Saturday, Feb. 8th, they’ll take on Abilene Christian. That one is slated for 4:30 PM. As part of their doubleheader on Saturday, A&M will also take on the Villanova Wildcats. That one is slated for 7:00 PM. Then, on Sunday, the Aggies will face the Purdue Boilermakers at 11:30 AM.
