Following the release of both national polls, the AP and the Coaches, Texas A&M is the consensus No. 6 team in the country. Even though previously No. 5 ranked ranked Notre Dame dropped out the top five, Texas A&M stayed put die to Michigan jumping four spots to No. 4. Clemson dropped one spot to No. 5.

In total, eight SEC cracked the AP top 25 list. 1. Alabama, 2. Georgia, 6. Texas A&M, 12. Florida, 16. Arkansas, 20. Kentucky, 22. Ole Miss, 24. Tennessee.

Heading into week 2, Texas A&M is currently scheduled to face five opponents ranked in the top 25. Four of those are SEC foes, while the other is No. 15 ranked Miami, who Texas A&M faces next week in College Station. If both teams win this weekend, it is nearly certain to be a top-15 matchup.
