Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek four-star cornerback Cobey Sellers announced on Tuesday that he will make his college decision public on May 11.

The 5-foot-11.5, 163-pounder is set to choose between Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M. All three programs have locked in official visits, but one program could be grabbing the momentum with a decision now less than two weeks away.

The Sooners entered the spring trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), but the Aggies are surging and are the team to watch following multiple predictions made in the industry, including a new pick logged by On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

Oklahoma still currently leads in the On3 RPM at 50.7%, but A&M is now right behind at 41.1%. Mike Elko and the Lone Star State program are rounding out an impressive April on the recruiting trail — and May could already be bringing some more good news.

Sellers has made multiple visits to College Station this month, including a trip during a major recruiting weekend for Elko and his staff. Like many others that were in attendance, Sellers left impressed by the coaching staff and the direction he sees the in-state school heading. His OV with the Aggies is set for June 7.

“A&M’s new staff has been recruiting since they got there,” Sellers told On3. “The head coach, DC, and cornerback coaches came to see me at my school. Coach (Jordan) Peterson has been calling and recruiting me for over a year since he was at Kansas. He never stopped recruiting me even though I never went to visit Kansas. So our relationship isn’t new like most would think. Every time we talk he’s teaching me something about the game and I see how he developed DBs at Kansas.

“I think Coach Elko can get A&M back on the right track.”

Sellers is the No. 165 overall prospect and No. 20 corner in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 28 player in Texas.

Texas A&M Class Breakdown

10 prospects currently make up the class, headlined by an elite signal-caller from the West Coast and a myriad of in-state athletes.

Just two of the Aggies’ commits are not from Texas, one of whom is the highlight pledge in the class. Corona (Calif.) Centennial four-star quarterback Husan Longstreet is a centerpiece addition for Elko and Co.

Now a top-50 recruit and the No. 6 QB in the On3 Industry Ranking, Longstreet committed on April 14. He was one of two prospects to commit on the day, as he followed Denton (Texas) Ryan four-star interior offensive lineman Marcus Garcia.

Four offensive linemen are currently in the class. Cypress (Texas) Bridgeland four-star offensive tackle Jonte Newman and Prosper (Texas) three-star IOL Connor Carty also committed in April, while Spring (Texas) Legacy three-star IOL Joshua Moses was the first to commit, doing so last August.

Katy (Texas) Paetow four-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway is a top-175 recruit and top-25 corner in the cycle. DeSoto (Texas) four-star running back Deondrae Riden is a top-15 burner and provided a recruiting boost with his pledge in February.

Forney (Texas) four-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins is the No. 300 recruit in the nation, while Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair four-star defensive lineman Landon Rink kicked off the Aggies’ big April. Goodyear (Ariz.) Desert Edge three-star CB Jamar Beal-Goines is the newest addition to the class, as he pledged on April 28.
