Texas A&M TE Donovan Green has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos confirms.

Injuries have kept Green off the field for much of his collegiate career, playing in just two games over the last two seasons for the Aggies. He was forced to miss the entire 2023 season after tearing his ACL.

In 2022, he caught 22 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns before the injury bug caught up to him.

Coming out of high school, Green was a highly-touted four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 153 overall player in his cycle, as well as the No. 6 overall tight end.

Given his potential when healthy, the 6-foot-4, 265-pound tight end will likely have his choice of suitors to pick from in the portal this cycle.

Texas A&M finished the 2024 season 8-5 overall, which ended with the Aggies falling to USC 35-31 in the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 27. They were ranked as high as No. 14 in the AP Top 25 Poll during the regular season.

The portal officially opens on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.

That means roughly 25 percent of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

NC State transfer WR KC Concepcion commits to Texas A&M

Former NC State wide receiver KC Concepcion has committed to Texas A&M, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. After playing two seasons at NC State, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Concepcion burst onto the scene in 2023 during his true freshman campaign, finishing the season with 71 catches for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns — the most receiving touchdowns and receptions by a freshman in program history.
