Texas A&M trending for 4-star OL Marcus Garcia
Denton (Texas) Ryan four-star interior offensive lineman Marcus Garcia is moving swiftly towards his commitment.
He named Arkansas, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State and Texas A&M as his top six schools earlier this week. On Sunday, he announced that he’s set to commit on April 14. With his decision one week away, it’s the in-state Aggies trending for his pledge.
HuskerOnline’s Bryan Munson became the fourth recruiting insider to log a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in favor of Texas A&M landing Garcia on Sunday. Last weekend, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons and Sooner Scoop’s Josh McCuisition each did the same.
The Aggies now sit with a whopping 93.4% edge in the RPM and look to be on the cusp of adding another pledge from a blue-chipper out of the Lone Star State.
“My relationships with the coaches and where the best spot is for me is one of the main things that me and my family were talking about,” Garcia told On3 about his top schools. “It was mostly which school is going to develop me the most, which school has a history of developing O-line, which coaching staff believes in me and wants to develop me as a player and a person.”
Garcia has made three trips to College Station and has a June official visit scheduled. He also has OVs currently set with Arkansas, Michigan and Penn State, but he’ll be off the board by the time the summer rolls around.
When Garcia announced his top six, he told On3 he was going to pull the trigger on his commitment when he got “that feeling.” Quickly after, a commitment is on the horizon, and the feelings of many insiders are pointing toward Mike Elko and A&M.
