Texas transfer tight end Amari Niblack set to visit Texas A&M this weekend
Texas transfer tight end Amari Niblack is set to visit Texas A&M this weekend, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. The former Top 100 overall recruit hauled in 20 catches and four touchdowns during his time with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2023. He had five catches with the Longhorns in 2024.
While he played only sparingly this season, Niblack did make some big plays during his time at Alabama. He joined the Crimson Tide program after being ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 3 tight end in the country in the class of 2022, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
During his two seasons at Alabama, Niblack appeared in 24 games and made five starts. He was a solid receiving option for Alabama in 2023, catching 20 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns.
The hope for Niblack was that he would be a big part of the Texas offense this past season but that ended up not happening. Now he is entering the transfer portal once again, looking for a place where he can be a big-time contributor.
