Tim Tebow may not be on the gridiron anymore, but the SEC legend is highly regarded as one of the top analysts when it comes to the conference.

With a great slate of meaningful SEC games on the lineup for Saturday, Tebow joined the Paul Finebaum show on Friday and give his take on Texas A&M vs. Auburn.

Tebow started his analysis of the Aggies and Tigers matchup by praising Texas A&M front man Jimbo Fisher.

“Well, I think Jimbo is a really good coach,” Tebow said. “I think he does a really good job of game planning, especially for big games like the Bama game. I think sometimes where maybe it hasn’t been as strong is the games that people think you are supposed to just go in and win. But it’s really hard to just walk in in this league and win. That’s why you have to prepare every single week as  moment its seasons of its own.”

Tebow went on to mention Auburn’s recent hot streak. Bryan Harsin — in his first year leading the Tigers — clearly has his team buying in. The Tigers have won four of their last five outings, including an impressive upset over No. 15 Ole Miss a week ago. The Rebels knocked off a highly talented Arkansas squad the week before.

The former Heisman Trophy winner didn’t understate the challenge that lies ahead for the Aggies.

“I’ll tell you what, tomorrow afternoon is going to be a huge game,” Tim Tebow added. “Auburn is coming in here with a lot of momentum, the best Bo Nix has ever played with several running backs, at least two of them that are maybe the best in the SEC. And a defense that’s improving.”

Nix played great, completing 22 of 30 for 276 yards and a touchdown, but the offense was balanced throughout the day. Star running back Tank Bigsby gashed the Ole Miss defense for 140 yards and a touchdown, while averaging more than 6 years per run.

Tim Tebow believes if Fisher and the Aggies are going to have to have success on Saturday, they must attack Nix and the Auburn offense the same way they stifled Bryce Young and the Alabama offense in the upset over the Crimson Tide earlier this year.

“I think it’s really important for the A&M defense and Mike Elko to bring pressure on Bo Nix. His stats versus the blitz versus no blitz are totally different,” he said. “I think it is a similar defensive gameplan for A&M that they had against Bama and Bryce Young. When they made Bryce Young, his head was all over the place. A great quarterback in Bryce Young, at times that day a little more average. The gameplay should be similar. … With one of the biggest stadiums in college football, the 12th man needs to be a factor tomorrow afternoon.”

It’s clear Tim Tebow thinks this could be a great team between two highly-talented SEC squads. Let’s see if he’s right about the strategy for the Aggies to topple the Tigers.
