Tim Tebow: Texas A&M 12th man can not be overlooked
Tim Tebow knows how valuable the crowd can be for Texas A&M. The “12th man” can make it tough for opposing teams to communicate, giving the Aggies a distinct advantage on the field. Texas A&M is hoping for that kind of impact from the crowd on Saturday against Auburn.
Tebow talked on the Paul Finebaum Show on Friday, where he pointed out the importance of Texas A&M’s 12th man.
“Well, there are so many little nuances of a game that change, one of them being cadence,” Tebow said. “You go from being able to lose a vocal cadence to using a silent cadence, which just slows down some of your motions. Maybe it changes the way you communicate on the offensive line, how you communicate with your receivers.
“If it is not quite clear and practiced, you might have a few false starts, not be on the same page. There have been several games this year where the away team, the quarterback is looking at the receiver because they couldn’t communicate. Then you have the penalties from that. I think the biggest thing is the momentum, what A&M did a few weeks back was build a momentum behind them and the 12th man helped them in the final moments of the game.”
Tim Tebow also previewed the matchup between Texas A&M and Auburn
Tebow also pointed out some keys to victory for Texas A&M over Auburn on Saturday. The game should be an exciting one between two very talented SEC foes.

“I’ll tell you what, tomorrow afternoon is going to be a huge game,” Tebow said Friday. “Auburn is coming in here with a lot of momentum, the best Bo Nix has ever played with several running backs, at least two of them that are maybe the best in the SEC. And a defense that’s improving.
“I think it’s really important for the A&M defense and Mike Elko to bring pressure on Bo Nix. His stats versus the blitz versus no blitz are totally different,” he said. “I think it is a similar defensive game plan for A&M that they had against Bama and Bryce Young. When they made Bryce Young, his head was all over the place. A great quarterback in Bryce Young, at times that day a little more average. The gameplay should be similar. … With one of the biggest stadiums in college football, the 12th man needs to be a factor tomorrow afternoon.”
Texas A&M and Auburn are both 6-2 entering Saturday’s matchup. The Tigers are 3-1 against SEC opponents while the Aggies are 3-2. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
