Texas A&M offensive lineman Trey Zuhn is an Aggie for life and expressed just how much he’s invested into the A&M vs. Texas rivalry, which is set to be renewed in 2024.

At SEC Media Days down in Dallas, TX this week, Zuhn’s parental connection to A&M was brought up as he was asked what he knows about the Longhorn-Aggie feud on the football field.

“I was born and raised an Aggie, so I’ve heard about the tradition from my parents and my grandparents. So I’m so excited for it,” said Zuhn. “I actually have a Longhorn hanging in my room. It happens to be upside down, but… don’t let a referee in there.”

Even though most of the current players on Texas and Texas A&M were in elementary school the last time the two programs played each other in the regular season, there’s clearly still a hate-fueled passion felt by these teams. That matchup in Kyle Field ought to be electric, says Trey Zuhn.

“Being at Kyle Field, any game at Kyle Field is an amazing experience, especially with the Texas game. I can’t wait for it,” he said. “The crowd, they’re going to be at 110%. Everyone has bought in for it. The buzz is crazy. I just can’t wait to get out there and win.”

But whether it’s a game that’s been awaited for a decade like the Texas matchup, or any other game, Trey Zuhn loves playing in front of the Texas A&M fans and says they bring the passion every Saturday no matter what.

“The 12th man, they’re the best fans out there,” said Zuhn. “They always come rain or shine, 110%. Walking on to that field, it never gets old. I remember the first time walking on there as a freshman, it’s still the same feeling walking on there as a junior or senior. I just can’t wait to get back on the field.”

Now that’s a player who is enjoying every second of wearing Texas A&M across the front of his jersey. He’s hungry for the season to start, but also for that Texas game sitting there at the very end of the regular season slate.
