Recruiting is all about relationships.
It’s a cliche — but it became a cliche because it is based in truth. Coaches spend years
But there is an aspect of relationship building in the recruiting process that can sometimes be overlooked: relationships between recruits. Players want to play for coaches they like and who their parents and guardians trust. But they also want to play with people they like and enjoy.
It looks like a group of players committed to and considering Texas A&M have found that camaraderie,
The sideline before Saturday’s game between the Aggies and South Carolina looked like a family reunion. There were more daps and handshakes than a business conference. One video from Mike Lucas, a reporter for the NBC affiliate in College Station, Texas, exemplifies that relationship building.
It features three 2022 On300 prospects — Katy (Texas) High four-star cornerback Bobby Taylor, Bainbridge (Ga.) High four-star cornerback Deyon Bouie and Powell (Tenn.) High five-star defensive lineman Walter Nolen — having a great time.
Bouie even flashes the Horns Down sign.
Walter Nolen would be a major pickup for Texas A&M
Bobby Taylor and Deyon Bouie are both committed to the Aggies, but Walter Nolen is still uncommitted.
The No. 6 recruit in the 2022 On300 rankings, Nolen made his third visit to Texas A&M this weekend. His previous visit was two weeks ago when the Aggies upset then-No. 1 Alabama.

Texas A&M is considered the favorite for Nolen, with Tennessee considered the team in the next best position to grab the elite recruit.
And while Deyon Bouie has been a commit to Texas A&M since August, he did tell On3’s Jeremy Johnson that there is a slim chance he chooses in-state Georgia.
But he seems to be locked in for the long term in College Station and loves the atmosphere at the school.
“It doesn’t matter where you’re from or who you are,” Deyon Bouie told Johnson about Texas A&M. “When you first come, they treat you like you’ve been there.”
