Washington DB transfer Jordan Shaw commits to Texas A&M
Former Washington defensive back Jordan Shaw has committed to Texas A&M, On3 has learned. He entered the portal on Jan. 3.
Spending one season with the Huskies, Shaw appeared in all 13 games for Washington during the 2024 season. He logged 37 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 6 pass breakups during that time.
Shaw spent the 2023 season at Indiana, playing in four games and making two starts. He finished with 9 tackles and a pass breakup. After hitting the portal last offseason, he verbally committed to Arizona but flipped to Washington to join former Wildcats head coach Jedd Fisch up north.
Before college, Shaw was a three-star recruit coming out of high school according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 60 cornerback in the country in the class of 2023.
He attended St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy High in Downey, Calif. Jordan Shaw finished with 83 tackles and seven interceptions as a senior. He also scored eight punt return touchdowns and one kickoff return touchdown during his two years of varsity football.
The portal officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.

Texas A&M running back Israel Benjamin enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Texas A&M running back Israel Benjamin has officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Wednesday night, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Before joining Texas A&M, Benjamin spent time with Harvard.
In 2024, he saw action for the Aggies against McNeese State. And in 2023, he did not see the field.
During the 2022 campaign with Harvard, Benjamin tallied five carries for 11 yards. He played his high school football with Saguaro High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
While it is a loss for Texas A&M in the transfer portal, the Aggies have been making some serious waves, landing some of the top prospects in all of college football. That includes their new defensive back, Jordan Shaw.
On3’s Wade Peery contributed to this report.
