Washington IOL Landen Hatchett recaps Texas A&M official visit
2023 Ferndale (Wash.) High three-star interior offensive lineman Landen Hatchett returned to Texas A&M over the weekend amidst a busy month of official visits.
After making an official visit to Oregon last month, the junior out of the Pacific Northwest opted to use his second official visit on the Aggies, one of the lone schools out of his region that’s in the mix for him.
“Last time I was at A&M I really learned about the “Aggie connection” and that stood out again,” he said. “But this time I got to spend a lot more time with the whole staff and a lot of the players. I was really impressed with the relationships between staff and players and really liked to get to know several of the offensive lineman I would be playing with. They were all really cool.”
Hatchett was able to spend a lot of time with offensive line coach Steve Addazio on his visit and praised his transparency.
“It was great spending a lot of time with Coach Addazio,” he said. “He’s really transparent about the type of coach he is, how he feels he can develop you, and where you stand with him. There’s not a lot of fluff there with him and I appreciate that.”
In addition, Hatchett spent time with 2023 Texas A&M interior offensive line commit Colton Thomasson and four-star offensive line target Harris Sewell, who were both on official visits as well, as well as current players on the roster.
Coming out of the visit, there’s a lot that stands out about the Aggies to him.
“I really like what A&M has to offer with football, academics, and life connections, which is why I put them in my top schools,” he said. “After this visit they are still in high consideration for me.”

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Up next, Hatchett will take an official visit to Michigan this coming weekend, followed by an official visit to Washington the week after, where his older brother, Huskies offensive lineman Geirean Hatchett plays. After taking the final two official visits, Hatchett plans to take some time to evaluate his options, then plans on making a decision sometime in July, if not at some point before his senior year.
Hatchett plans to get back down to Texas A&M either in late July, for the BBQ/Pool Party July 29-31 weekend, or for a game during the season. With a decision expected within the coming months, getting the three-star back on campus one more time this summer could bode well for the Aggies’ chances.
As it stands, Oregon is the current favorite to land the three-star out of Washington, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Ducks have a 79.8% chance of signing Hatchett with no other team having a percentage above 10%.
Hatchett ranks as the No. 904 overall recruit and No. 91 interior offensive lineman in the 2023 cycle per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks higher in the On300 rankings as a three-star prospect and the No. 80 interior offensive lineman in the country.
