WATCH: Jalen Wydermyer pulls in 27-yard touchdown catch against Alabama
Texas A&M tight end Jalen Wydermyer is doing damage on the Crimson Tide defense yet again in 2021. He just caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Texas A&M quarterback Zach Calzada in the 1st quarter of the Alabama-Texas A&M matchup.
Watch it below as the Alabama defense leaves him WIDE OPEN for the touchdown catch.
The touchdown was the 14th career touchdown for Wydermyer, tying him for ninth all-time in Texas A&M school history. The score also put the Aggies up against Alabama 10-7 in the 1st quarter.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban had even vented earlier in the week about how he wanted his defense to cover the athletic tight end better this year.
The Texas native was named preseason first team All-SEC for the 2021 season and is one of the best players at his position in the country.
He missed the 2021 spring season after having surgery on his finger. Wydermyer cut his finger after a freak off-the-field incident, according to head coach Jimbo Fisher.
