Texas has released Orlando (Fla.) Jones four-star defensive lineman D’antre Robinson from his National Letter of Intent, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

The 6-foot-3.5, 315-pounder committed to the Longhorns over Florida on July 20 and proceeded to put pen to paper during the December Early Signing Period. Since then, Texas DL coach Bo Davis left Austin to take the same position with LSU.

Davis was Robinson’s lead recruiter and developed an important relationship with the blue-chip lineman.

The coaching carousel is turning faster than ever, as coaches and staffers all over the country are leaving for other jobs seemingly at will. Robinson isn’t the first recruit to see his position coach leave just as he’s set to arrive on campus, but Davis himself was a monumental factor in Robinson’s decision to commit and sign with the Longhorns.

“My closest relationship is with Bo Davis. We talk every day and we can talk about everything,” Robinson told On3’s Hayes Fawcett upon his commitment.

“That’s who he had connected with,” Texas recruiting insider Gerry Hamilton said on The Inside Scoop. “That’s who he had the relationship with, that was his guy and that was a big reason when he committed July 20th, he said the development with Bo Davis was a huge piece for his decision to go to Texas over Florida at the time.”

Robinson is the No. 273 overall prospect and No. 28 DL in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 35 player in Florida.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $105K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
