4-star DL Josiah Sharma flips commitment from Oregon to Texas

While on a visit to Texas on Thursday, Sacramento (Calif.) Folsom four-star defensive lineman Josiah Sharma flipped his commitment from Oregon to the Longhorns.
Sharma initially pledged to Oregon on June 28, choosing the Ducks over Alabama and Texas.
Sharma is the nation’s No. 268 overall prospect, No. 25 defensive lineman and No. 25 recruit from California in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3 rates him higher than the other major recruiting services. Sharma ranks No. 148 nationally and No. 14 among defensive linemen in the 2025 On300.

Steve Sarkisian’s class features a bevy of top in-state prospects, as 11 of the 16 commits hail from Texas. That includes five top-200 recruits: Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove four-star EDGE Lance Jackson, Houston Alief Hastings four-star EDGE Smith Orogbo, Dallas Skyline four-star linebacker Elijah Barnes, Spring (Texas) Dekaney four-star tight end Nick Townsend and Missouri City (Texas) Hightower four-star cornerback Kade Phillips.
Saraland (Ala.) K.J. Lacey is the nation’s No. 9 QB, while Shreveport (La.) Calvary Baptist four-star running back James Simon is a top-15 RB. The Longhorns currently have the No. 14 class in the nation.
