WATCH: Agiye Hall releases hype video on social media following Texas commitment
Former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Agiye Hall is now a member of Texas Longhorns football. On Tuesday, the wideout announced that he would be headed to the Lone Star State to become a Longhorn. And if the news of Hall joining Texas does not have fans of the program hyped, this video released by the freshman wide receiver will surely do the job.
The Florida native ranked No. 38 overall in the 2021 On3 Consensus and earned a five-star rating in On3’s rankings. He also came into college as the No. 4 wide receiver and No. 10 player in his home state.
The decision to transfer from Alabama came shortly after Nick Saban announced that the wide receiver was suspended from the team for a second time, which Hall said on social media was news to him. However, he quickly decided to leave the program and now reunites with one of his lead recruiters in Steve Sarkisian.
The Longhorns have done an excellent job utilizing the transfer portal during the offseason. Along with the acquisition of Hall, Texas got the ball rolling early, acquiring the former number one overall prospect in the country from the same class Quinn Ewers from the Ohio State Buckeyes.
This move by Hall only adds to the level of intrigue surrounding the Longhorns’ matchup against the Crimson Tide next season. The two will face off on Sept. 10 in Austin. A kickoff time for the game will be scheduled at a later date.
Agiye Hall’s father on Texas
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver made a visit to Texas last weekend with his parents. Hall’s father, Vincent Hall, said the Texas visit checked a lot of boxes, and apparently led to a quick commitment.

“The visit was great,” Vincent Hall told On3’s Inside Texas. “We had a great time. It was our first time in Austin. The vibe of the city was great.”
A big part of the visit was Agiye Hall leaving Austin with a clear vision of playing for Texas.
“I think so. All the staff was outgoing and showed him how much they want him. He has so much familiarity with Coach (Jeff) Banks and Coach (Steve) Sarkisian. And he feels comfortable with them.”
What’s next in the process lacks certainty. Hall’s primary focus is on finishing up the semester strong.
“We don’t have anything else planned as of this time. We have had discussions with a few schools, but we haven’t scheduled anything. Agiye is focused on finishing strong in his classes.”
