Agiye Hall could wind up making his Texas debut in Week 1 after all. He’ll reportedly be a go for the Longhorns’ season opener on Saturday.

Hall will be active for Texas’ Saturday matchup against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday in Austin, according to OrangeBloods’ Anwar Richardson. He’s been serving an indefinite suspension following his arrest earlier this month, but Richardson said the former Alabama wide receiver has “worked hard” to get back onto the field.

Hall was arrested earlier this month for criminal mischief which was caused by damages to a parking boot. Texas then suspended him indefinitely, but Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian recently said he was “pleased” with how Hall was handling himself through the suspension.

“Steve Sarkisian says Agiye Hall ‘is doing all the necessary things right now. I’m pleased,’ but does not say if he will be back for the ULM game,” Inside Texas’s Joe Cook reported.

Sarkisian also told reporters previously that Hall will be back with the Longhorns “when the time is right.”

More on Agiye Hall’s arrest, suspension

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office took Hall into custody at 9:06 p.m. Aug. 11 and charged him with criminal mischief between $100 and $750. The TSCO website listed his bond at $0.

The next day, Sarkisian announced Hall;’s indefinite suspension in a brief statement.

“We’re aware of the situation involving Agiye Hall, have talked with his family, and have suspended him from all team activities for conduct that is detrimental to our program,” the statement read.

Hall transferred from Alabama over the offseason after facing an indefinite suspension from the Crimson Tide program. Before he entered the transfer portal, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said Hall violated team rules.

Hall entered the portal one day after Saban made his remarks and ended up committing to Texas on April 19. He was the No. 35 transfer to hit the portal this offseason, according to the 2021 On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.
