Eli Manning details excitement for Arch at Texas spring practice
Arch Manning was one of the most hyped prospects in recent memory. The five-star, per the On3 Industry Ranking, caught the attention of his uncle Eli, who couldn’t be more excited for Arch at Texas.
Arch might not start right away at Texas, unless he’s definitely better than Quinn Ewers. But there’s a lot of buzz about the budding superstar.
Eli joined the Pat McAfee Show and talked about Arch’s transition to college in Austin.
“I think we’re just excited for him,” Manning said of Arch at Texas. “He’s already at Texas right now going through spring ball and, and, you know, I want to be a resource for him. But I’d never be the guy to say ‘hey you got to be doing this ,you got to be doing that some of it.’ You got to learn on the run. You got to just go in there, go to be a freshman in college, figure things out, figure out your schedule.”
There’s even film work, or something like that, between Eli and Arch. Not to mention, Arch comes from a great lineage also featuring uncle Peyton, father Cooper and grandfather Archie.
“But whenever we get together and get to see him in the summertime, get to see him at different times throughout the year and and you know, we always kind of set an hour or 30 minutes or we happen to be sitting there, you know, eating lunch and we pick his brain,” Manning said.

Arch Manning has Eli excited for Texas spring practice
Manning talked about conversations with his nephew back in high school as the top prospect developed.
“I mean this was when he was in high school to see what he knows about coverages or what he knows about this just talking ball talking X’s and O’s,” Manning said. “I didn’t know much when I was a senior in high school about different coverages and different concepts. Now they’re throwing it a lot more in high school, so it’ll be fun as he now gets into college. The game is more similar to the NFL and everything going on just to be able to talk ball with him and see what he’s doing.
“I sent him some text message every once awhile just, you know different things to think about but just hey, he’s got to go be a freshman in college and figure things out on himself for a little bit. And obviously he’s done really well doing that so far.”
