After a successful Week 1 blowout of Louisiana Monroe, Texas football faces a much tougher task in Week 2 against Alabama. But star Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson is excited by the challenge and thinks he an his teammates are ready for the adversity thrown their way.

Robinson said recently that the team has been planning for the Tide, and running the ball will be a vital part of their offensive attack.

“I think they have a game plan too. But that’s why we’re game planning as much as we can, as hard as we can. To understand that we have, what plays, what advantage we have over them that we want to execute. And running the ball is important in this game, you know. They have a really good run-stopping defense.”

Then, Robinson was asked about how he prepares to face such a great defense in Alabama.

“You know, just like how I prepare for everybody. I know that most teams who I play against, who we play against, you know, they’re always trying to stop the run. And, you know, for me I just gotta, you know, go in there with the mindset of dominating. Let God take over the rest. Hopefully, I come out healthy and the whole team comes out on top.”

“Well for us, adversity is everywhere. I know we’re the underdogs in the game. But, you know, I think we’ve done a really good job of really canceling out adversity. Or when adversity is coming, we do a really good job of trying to come together even closer. And we’re gonna point it out. We’re going to say, like…this wins, we gotta come closer as a team and adversity is coming hard on this team. So I appreciate it honestly. Because you know, it gets a stronger team instantly and physically.”

Robinson knows a tall task lies ahead in facing that Alabama defense, even at home. But he’s ready to face whatever challenges come his way.
