Texas earned themselves a year’s worth of bragging rights in their 49-0 blowout of Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. Although the Sooner’s defense hasn’t played as well of late, the Longhorn offense had one of their year’s best outings. For that, star running back Bijan Robinson gave credit across the board.

Robinson broke down the successful offensive output during media after the win in the Cotton Bowl. He said it all started with the offensive line for allowing the offense to get going, specifically in the run game.

“You gotta give credit to the offensive line the whole game. Without them, obviously without God, this wouldn’t happen,” said Robinson. “They made so many holes. They gave me so many opportunities, (Roshcon Johnson) so many opportunities to get downhill, make people miss, and get as much as you can.”

Again, Oklahoma has allowed 145 points and an average of 587.3 yards of offense over their last three. The Sooner’s defense has been atrociously porous as of late to say the least. Still, Robinson and his offensive teammates took advantage. Robinson himself rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, the now-healthy Quinn Ewers came back with 289 passing yards and four touchdowns.

In the end, Robinson said it was a team effort from the top all the way down. He said the play calling from the coaching staff and the effort from everyone on the offensive end helped everybody produce the way that they did.

“That run game was affecting their defense the whole game. The pass game (was too) and Quinn was just dialing up. It was hard for them to stop either thing on the offense,” Robinson said. “I give credit to all the play calls that we did with Coach Sark and everybody who was just a part of that. Just letting us just have an opportunity to go out there and just make plays.”

After losing to Alabama and Texas Tech, Texas needed a win against a team they really wanted to beat. There are few teams the Longhorns want to beat more on their schedule each season than the Sooners and they did it in emphatic fashion in 2022. With this year’s edition of the Red River Rivalry behind them, the offense now has some wind in their sails as they stare down some stiff competition the rest of the way in the Big 12.
